Mapuguaquen Speakers

With a name that literally means ‘sound of the earth’ Chilean Designer Pablo Ocqueteau creates speakers the old fashioned way using a potters wheel, the pots are then baked and fitted out with the required electronics, the idea behind the project was to rescue a sense of local identity and tradition whilst still being in touch with modern electronics, I have to say on a personal note when i was a kid we used to have subwoofers that were made out of pots that my dad made himself and the sounds that came out was absolutely amazing, lets just say that he wasn’t amazed when i tipped one over by accident!
