Audi R18 Le Mans Prototype

With work that began in mid 2009 Audi has finally taken the wraps off the R18 Le Mans Prototype, the first thing you notice is that unlike previous models this one has a roof, the benefits of that are obvious from the very start, besides it making things significantly easier for the driver it also dramatically improves aerodynamics.

Power comes from a 3.7-liter TDI V6 engine, the new six-speed transmission keeps this thing going, horsepower figures haven’t been released yet but just check out those headlights! Check of these detailed images of the car below.
