Guido Mocafico’s Serpentine Art


Feared universally and deeply misunderstood snakes around the world have been the subject of many a discussion for as long as one could remember, from being worshiped in India and Ancient Egypt to being considered the sign of all things evil in the Bible this slithery inhabitant had has every name tag imaginable, its only when you see one in person, you realize that along with the fear that seeps through your veins there is a blatant sense of beauty, from the colours they have to the patterns on their skin there’s no denying the fact that they are beautiful.

Paris based artist Guido Mocafino uses them as a paints on a neutral surface taking photographs of them that do justice to these misunderstood creatures. the close quarters that they are temporarily subjected to causes them to overlap each other creating shapes and patterns of bodies and colours.
