I thought the trip would be a great opportunity to check out the Human Made exhibition at Dover Street Market in London. If you haven’t been to that shop.. Get yourself down there. The installation is on the basement level of the store and looks like a mini re-creation of the Human Made Cold Coffee store in Tokyo. All the pieces are limited so what you see is what you get. There’s no stock at the back. The whole idea is that you leave with a piece that you will get years of use out of. It’s the ethos behind the Human Made brand. I picked up the black iPhone vinyl but they have it in grey and white too. Even the crates that are used to display the pieces were custom made for the event. Hats off to the folks at anumberofnames for attention to detail. But then again I expect nothing less.

The exhibition runs till the end of the month so make sure you call around…

Human Made

The South Bank is a very popular part of the capital and is situated in the Borough of Lambeth. It serves as a significant arts and entertainment district with various pop up events and more establish venues like The Southbank Centre, The Royal Festival Hall, The Royal National Theatre and The London Eye to name a few. It was just past home time and every table that was out in the sun was occupied by people soaking in the rays. We don’t get much in the way of sunshine so when it does happen people are quick to make the most of it. I walked to meet my friend Joe at the Southbank centre as he had some of my bags and after a quick chat and goodbye made my way across to Westminister which is on the opposite side to catch the tube. These shots were taken along my journey and are definitely going into my favourites folder. I hope you enjoy them.. It was one of those moments that just cannot be described in words.

Apart from the post holiday blues its always good to be home. There’s something about going to bed in your own bed that cannot be measured, Here are the first of many sets of images captured while we were on holiday. These were taken at Little Fistral beach in Newquay. Bright and beautiful this day might look but there’s one thing the images did not capture and that was the wind. It was relentless.. I guess it all adds up to the experience of being one with the element.

After a spot of lunch we slipped into our wetsuits and headed out into the ocean. Followed by a walk to a cliff to watch the sun set!

It goes without saying that the leather used throughout the camera which is called ‘Veau Swift’ calfskin in ocre, is supplied by Hermès. The same leather is also used to make the shoulder strap that is supplied with the set. Speaking of set’s there are 2, the first one is limited to 300 units and is on sale now. It includes the camera and a silver anodised Leica Summilux-M 50 mm f/1.4 ASPH. lens. The second set which goes on sale in June is accompanied by three lenses: a Leica Summicron-M 28 mm f/2 ASPH., a Leica Noctilux-M 50 mm f/0.95 ASPH. and a Leica APO-Summicron-M 90 mm f/2 ASPH. A hand-crafted Hermès camera bag is also included along with a book of photographs in black and white taken by Jean-Louis Dumas using his Leica M. As you can imagine all these bespoke touches don’t come cheap. But you do get what you pay for. I guess you could compare it to a fine piece of jewellery as every Leica is made by hand using skills and craftsmanship that has been passed down from generations, scroll down below the break to watch a video of the camera being made.

Here are some pictures from my trip. Which the weather has mostly been wet and grey for the duration of my time there, and  just like that the sun decided to make a guest appearance on Tuesday. This is probably my favourite collection of pictures of this beautiful city. So much so I’ve had to split them into two parts. Here’s the first one. I hope u like them..

25 year old designer Jack Hemingway has taken the best elements of Hush Puppies and drew further inspiration from British Club Culture to give a collection that is not only good to look at but also maintains the core values of the brand. The suede upper is the softest wolverine leather which is derived from pigskin and is world renowned for its performance features, colours, weights and varieties.  The line drops in July 2012.
